Treatments offered

  • Acupuncture

Rooted in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture is the application of single use sterilized medical grade needles into a specific point. This stimulates Qi (pronounced chee) and blood, increases circulation and balances the bodies energetic systems allowing for healing to be initiated.

  • Massage Therapy

In a massage you can expect a blend of relaxation massage, deep tissue techniques, use of tuning forks (acutonics) and a postural assessment to evaluate your muscular/skeletal symmetry.

  • Auricular

Auricular acupuncture uses the ear as a microsystem. Their are multiple microsystems in the body that an acupuncturist can use but the ear is one of the most common. With auricular acupuncture we may needle specific points on the ear or stick a tiny seed (referred to as an ear seed) to the ear stimulating certain pressure points. These ear seeds can be worn for several days.

  • Cupping

Cupping is a technique used to treat pain, decrease muscle tension and increase circulation. A glass or silicone cup creates a negative pressure gently pulling up the tissue and fascia. This loosens achy muscles, opens the meridians and dredges stagnation. Cups are commonly placed on the back, shoulders, neck and legs.

Bruising is a common side effect of cupping however this is not the treatment objective. Bruising usually resolves within 4-10 days.

  • Herbal Formulas

Herbal medicine can be used for a wide variety of conditions and ailments. A herbal formula is a synergistic blend of herbs picked specifically for your constitution. Chinese herbal formulas is a powerful yet gentle method to support your body and mind.

  • Moxibustion

Moxa is a heat therapy used in TCM that involves the burning of the herb β€œAi Ye” or most commonly known as Mugwort. Moxa is most commonly used in clinic for turning breech babies, regulating menstruation , pain conditions and supporting healthy immune function and response.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • At first treatments are more frequent and booked closer together, generally a series of 6-10 treatments once a week. Once we have lasting changes then appointments can be more spaced out. Through out your series of treatments we will discus and navigate treatment frequency.

Generally acute conditions and injuries are spaced more frequently and closer together (example 2-3x within a week)

Chronic conditions are spaced further apart for a longer period of time (1x a week for multiple weeks)

  • No, I unfortunately do not offer direct billing at either location. However you are able to submit to your insurance provider on your own. All receipts are emailed and will contain an Acupuncture (R.Ac) or Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) licensing number that you will need to submit to your benefits.

  • That's totally okay! It is normal to feel some needle sensation on insertion however you may also feel nothing! Sensations such as slight tingling, a dull ache and heaviness are all normal. My aim is to make you as relaxed and comfortable as possible. If at any point you want me to take a needle out, move the pillow or adjust the heat you just let me know. Ill be checking in with you throughout the treatment making any adjustments as needed.

  • Prior to your appointment you will receive online intake forms, please have these filled out prior. This initial appointment gives us time to discuss your health goals and for you to explain in more detail what brings you in. I will also ask some other general health questions about your sleep, energy, digestion etc. I will then leave the room and let you change and get under the covers (like in a massage). Needles will be left in for around 20-40 minutes. We may insert needles on the front of the body, back of the body or do both sides within a treatment. In a treatment we may use a blend of cupping, massage and acutonics (tuning forks).
